"His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower."
These are the words given to me by Leslie Scott. 86 years old, and still travelling the bus from Mitchells Plain to Bellville and back. Tilting his head while greeting me every night as I get on the bus to go home. I am so fascinated, by the handsome 86 year old gentlemen. (**,)
Not even my husband can top this man's manner.
Finally I got a chance to sit next to him and he smiled. Immediately we started talking and what he said was His purposes will ripen fast, Unfolding every hour; The bud may have a bitter taste, But sweet will be the flower.
I introduced myself, exchanged names and I can actually say, the rest is history. Heheheheeee!!
I was mesmerized by the quote and he he gave a brief explanation what it means. It's almost two weeks since we met and I still can't forget those words. In the beginning of this month, I was told I'm being retrenched from work and I gave it to God. I did however feel that my time at this place is up and God has something new in store, but I didn't understand the way it was done.
Who am I to question God? Why not just leave it in His hands?
Leslie Scott made it clear that God will reveal the purpose behind everything. It is unclear right now, but in His time I will understand. This morning I am so blessed, because God never lies. He gave me a scripture and I NOW understand what Leslie Scott meant when he gave me that quote.
Jesus answered; "You don't really know what I am doing, but later you will understand." John 13:17
The time has fully come that we wait on God. When God promise you He will not harm you, He means it. We are so scared of the unfamiliar, forgetting this familiar has been unfamiliar not too long ago. If God has brought you till here, He can take you further. This retrenchment is a blessing, because God has blessed me with something new. I am forever grateful. The void that felt empty, has yet again been filled. I didn't understand it then, but I do now according to John 13:7
God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sovereign will.
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sovereign will.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.
His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.
Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.
Thank you Sir Leslie Scott......
In His Love
Leslene
